Christina sat in the X-Jet as it crossed the Atlantic. She stared out the window as it flew towards Africa. Sasha was not on this mission, so she was leader. She sighed. Sasha was a far better leader.
Christina looked briefly around at the other students with her. What a troop. She felt like she was leading them to their deaths, and all because of her selfish reasons. If only Sasha were here...

Jake was in the seat opposite Christina. He felt there was something wrong with Christina, she just didnt look herself, she was worried about something. Jake walked over to Christina and said "Do you mind if I sit down here? Why are you so worried?"

Christina nodded absent-mindedly.
"In case you haven't noticed, Sasha's not here," she said flatly. "I would rather have waited for her, but she told me I had to retrieve the next piece. So now I'm the leader, but I'm nowhere near as good as her."

Jake looked at Christina in shock and said, "There is no reason why you cant be as good as Sasha, I know she was a great leader but I know you can be just as good as what she was." Jake pulled Christina into a hug and said "Go on and retreive the next piece for Drake, and I know you can do it, just put your mind to the task at hand, if you get stuck just ask for help, I'll be here to face your problems with you, when you get back Drake can take over."

Christina froze when Jake hugged her. What was happening? Why was her stomach fluttering? Was she attracted to him? No... no, she couldn't be.
But she relaxed, feeling safe with him, knowing Drake wouldn't find out because it was just the two of them on the Jet.
"Thanks..." she said quietly.
The Jet had almost reached Morocco; another half hour to Egypt.

Jake relaxed into the hug, he felt butterflies in his stomach, he thought to himself what is this, is this love that i feel, can i really like Christina. Jake let go of Christina, he said to Christina "did you feel what i felt then, that was beautiful" in a soft delicate voice.

Christina stood up and went to the cockpit, checked the statistics on the computer screen.
"We're about half an hour off Egypt," she said. "You alright back there Samara?"

Kurt ported into the cockpit. He took a seat next to Samara. "Hey, you alright, Do you want a potato chip?"

"Yes, I'm alright," Samara said to Christina.
"Do you want a potato chip?"
"No, thank you, Kurt."
Samara then heard a boy whose name she did not know address her. Surprisingly, he knew her name.
"Samara, are you excited about your first quest?"
Samara didn't know what to say, so she simply nodded. She didn't know this boy, but he seemed friendly.

"Eh, your loss. Jakey boy, Do you want a chip?" Kurt said, leaving his seat to go up to the front of the jet. "What about you Christina?"

They were almost at the Algeria-Libya border now; Egypt wasn't far away.

Jake said to Kurt " I thought you would never ask, im starving", Jake took a handful of chips from Kurt and said "thanks Kurt". Jake said to Christina " how long to go, im bored".
