"We've just crossed the border into Libya," Christina said, glancing quickly at the computer screen in the cockpit. "We'll be there soon."
-Ten minutes later-
The X-Jet landed in a valley just south of Aswan. There were hills surrounding them, with the first cataract to the west. In the hills to the east was a dark cave. That was where they were going.
"More caves..." Christina muttered as she jumped out of the Jet and set off towards the cave.

Jake followed Christina out of the Jet and set towards the cave, he was so excited about this mission, " he said to Christina do you think it wise to let the others come with us, i can feel danger up ahead".

Jake said to Kurt "ok, i am just a little worried about Samara if we get in to danger".

"It doesn't matter Jake," Christina said flatly. "George is a call away and he can get Horace here in a few seconds if need be."

Jake said to Christina "true, but what if it only takes a few seconds for them to strike, but lets stop talking about being attacked". Jake continued to walk towards the cave, he was exhausted from the heat.

Samara climbed out of the Jet and followed the rest.
Because of Jake's words, Samara was now slightly frightened. Perhaps coming on the mission was a bit of a mistake.

Jake dropped back a little bit just to walk with Samara for a bit, he realised she was worried about something, jake said to Samare "how are you feeling, you look awfully worried about something, is there anything i can do to help you".

"Jake, stop scaring the girl," Christina said, shooting a slightly angry look over her shoulder. "Samara, nothing is going to go wrong. I would never do anything to put you in danger."
As she said this she reached the cave and a wave of cool air washed over her, a far cry from the scalding heat of the desert sun.

Kurt stooped down to Samara's level. When she caught up he stopped her, pulled her over to him and said "Now Samara, theres nothing for you to worry about. Tell you what. Do you want me to carry you?" Then in a whisper he said "Do you wanna race?"

Jake ran back up to Christina and said "i didnt mean to scare her, i just thought i should let her know what might happen before it happens". Jake entered the cave with Christina.

"Jake, she's eight years old," Christina said irratibly as she walked further into the cave. "And I can't have her leaving. From what I've read about this place, her mutation will come in handy."

Jake stopped and looked at Christina and said " ok, im sorry i forgot she was only eight, this place is really getting to me, im sorry for everything i done, im not goin any further until you accept my apology". Jake stood there like a statue waiting for Christina to speak.

Samara smiled when Kurt offered to carry her.
"No, thank you," she said, "And I'm not very fast, so you would beat me in a race."

Christina glared at Jake and grabbed his arm.
"I accept your apology, now come on! We can't waste any time."
She dragged Jake further into the cave. As she pulled him along, her anger dissipated.
"I'm sorry Jake," she sighed. "I'm just on edge. I shouldn't be treating you so badly."
