"How dare you argue with me." The reaper screamed. It flew at Jake and landed on him, making a satisfyingly crunchy sound when Jakes spine shattered, "Au contraire, Jake, We are not ghosts." Was the last thing Jake would've heard before getting eaten. The reaper had set it up so the feast wasn't visible to Christina. It finished him up and looked at Christina, Holding out a gun he said, "Shoot yourself, and Jake comes back, and We leave. Everything remains the same as it always has been."

Christina took the gun with shaking hands. It was incredibly heavy in her hands. She pointed the gun down at her leg and pulled the trigger. The recoil was so powerful the gun was ripped from her hand, but she didn't notice that, nor the incredible boom as her knee exploded in a spray of red.
She dropped to the ground, whimpering in pain, starting at her leg in horror. The bullet had blown away all the flesh around her knee as well as the knee cap and her leg was now hanging on by a tendon.
She was in so much pain that she blacked out.

The reaper disappeared, in a folding effect of gold light
Drake had been outside at the time of the reapers attack, so he was one of the first ones eaten. He woke up lying on the ground. Really quickly, yelling "CHRISTINA" He ran to Georges place, he knew where that was, and pounded on the tiny hut. "George, wake up, Christina's been hurt."
He bolted up to the institute, looked through all the rooms and found George and Horace at the freezer. He woke them up by yelling "Christina's hurt."
They looked at each other, then exploded in a burst of flames which knocked Drake flat on his back, they flew to Siberia, as fast as they could. Jake was lying there, and Christina had half her leg shot off. It immediately started to heal itself. Jakes spine clicked into place, and soon they were as good as new.

When Christina came to, she woke up to see George and Horace. She flexed her now healed knee as she slowly stood.
"Man that really hurt," she said, wiping away tears that she didn't know were there. It was the most pain she had ever been in; including when Mesmero attacked her.

Jake stood up, he was really weak and drowsy, he found himself accompanied by George and Horace. He asked Christina if she was ok and then sat back down on the ground and asked them what just happend?

"You don't remember?" Christina asked shakily. "They... those things... they... killed you. Because you changed the past. I had to shoot myself!"
She looked up at George and Horace.
"How... how did you know we were hurt?"

Christina sighed softly, a smile on her face. She really wanted to see him right now. But no, they had to get the piece.
She cast a glance at Jake.
"Come on," she said coldly. "We've got work to do."
She marched off down the right hand corridor, not bothering to look for traps. Her mistake.
A hole opened in the roof and Christina was drenched in acid. It started burning through her clothes and the floor, but she sucked the acid in through her pores, effectively eliminating that threat.
She waited impatiently for the others. All the while she was being eaten up by guilt. She kissed Jake! How could she do that to Drake!?
She shook her head and started tapping her foot. She just wished she was alone, then she wouldn't have to wait.

Jake ran up to Christina and seen her waiting for the others very impatiently, he noticed she was stressed about something but didnt bother asking, he knew if he followed her quickly but safely things will be right and they will be able to get to the piece of everette's body safely.
They were about half way down another hallway, Jake noticed something in the roof, he wasnt sure of what it was as they approached it he figured out what it was, it was some sort of flask full of needle like objects, it is sent off by a sensor.
Jake noticed something very unusual just infront of Christina, he grabbed Christina and said "stop, we are getting closer to the top so these traps will start to be harder to locate,". Jake then looked down and said to Christina "look just where you were about to step then look down the hall on the roof, if you set that off we would all be dead". Jake stepped over it and continued to walk down the hallway.

Christina sighed angrily and continued on, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. She wasn't concentrating when she stepped on a pressure pad. The floor dropped away in front of her and revealed a large fan, that slowly started with a grinding noise, and then picked up speed.
It sucked air from around them so fast that Christina had to brace herself so as not to be sucked in.
"Jake!" she yelled above the noise. "You need to slow down time or we won't be able jump the gap! We'll be sucked in!"

Jake was holding the wall tightly trying not to be sucked in, he yelled to Christina over the loud noise "i cant slow down time, i have never tried to do that before but i can try and stop it". Jake yelled out to everyone "hang on to something, i dont know if i can do this but i'll try", Jake let go of the wall, he was being dragged towards the fan, he tried to resist going towards it, he focused on stopping time, he failed to get it.
Jake said "I dont think i can do it", Jake was being sucked towards the fan, he looked towards Christina and said "im sorry, i dont think i can do it" as he said to the force sucked Christina into the fan, Jake screamed out "NO, not Christina", Jake fell to the ground, tears running down his face. Jake noticed Christina floating in the air and the fan had stopped spinning, he said with a huge sigh of releif "I did it, i stopped time".

Christina found herself on the floor on the otherside of the fan. One moment she was just inches from being chopped up into tiny pieces, the next she was sitting against a grimy wall. The floor had reappeared over the fan. They were no longer in danger of being sucked in.
She looked up at Jake with a lopsided smile.
"Thanks," she said simply. Getting up, she continued down the hallway, searching for more traps. "Come on, the elevator to the top of the silo is just down there."
There were no other traps before the elevator. After all these years, it apparently still worked as Christina pressed the button and the elevator doors opened.

Jake walked across the floor where the fan had appeared but no longer was there, Jake entered the elevator, he was just waiting for another trap to appear, he knew that the fan wasnt the last of them. He waited for the others to enter the elevator so they could go.

"George and Horace aren't coming," Christina said flatly as she pressed a button on the keypad. The doors closed and the elevator ascended slowly, with a consistent grinding noise.
After a few minutes, the elevator clanged to a stop and the doors opened.
They were in the silo. It was a huge cylinder shaped building, lined with metal catwalks around the walls with ramps going down, connecting each level. It was empty now, but there were once missiles and nuclear bombs made here.
"I can see it, look!" Christina said, pointing across to a particularly rusted piece of catwalk opposite. She gingerly made her way around and stared at the box thoughtfully.
"It's too rusty, we'll have to go down. I'll melt the catwalk and then we'll catch it okay?"

Jake followed Christina out of the elevator, he also noticed the box and that the catwalk was covered in rust, Jake said to Christina "if you can melt the box down, we can get the piece". Jake browsed the silo very observantly knowing that something was going to go wrong. Jake stood there patiently waiting for Christina to make her move.
