"I... no..." Christina said softly. She felt so weak. "I was awake... but... not..." She held Drakes gaze for no more than a few seconds before she burst into tears. "Drake, I'm sorry... I'm so sorry," she sobbed as she clawed weakly at Drake. "You shouldn't be here... You don't need to be a part of this... It's my problem, mine alone..."

"Your problem. You think this is your probem, I have been going out of my mind. You dont call, you dont write, I started to think the wprst things have happened. Then your father walks into the mansion and tells me that his daughter, my girlfriend, is in a coma. I come to see you and you wake up and tell me that its not my problem, I dont think so missy."

Christina shook her head sadly. "Drake, I love you so much, but you shouldn't be here," she said. "I'm sure Daddy has told you that my illness is so much more serious. I don't think I'm going to live much longer... I don't want you to be here when I go."

"Well, I don't care if your illness has gotten much more serious. You saved me so I could save you. I want to be with you when you go." Drake said. "But I shall leave you to make up your mind wether you want me to or not."

Christina was silent as she thought it over. A doctor came in and Christina was interrupted from her thoughts as he did a checkup. He checked her heart rate, temperature and finally checked that her pupils dilated and contracted. When he left, Christina continued her thinking as she blinked furiously, trying to overcome her temporary blindness. "I... I don't want you there," she said finally, with a sad expression. "It'll be too painful... for both of us."

"Ok, fair enough." Drake got up, took careful notice of what blood group Christina had. He then walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him. "As soon as you consent, I'm giving her a part of my pancreas. I will make that sacrifice for her." He told the family.

Laura stared. "Drake... you - you can't do that!" she objected. "That's silly!" "Laura's right Drake," Roger said. "It isn't your problem to deal with. You shouldn't feel obliged to do something like that."
Alone inside her room, silent tears flooded down her cheeks. She had just pushed the one person she had ever been in love with away, this time forever.

"No, it's not silly, I have read into her problem, and pancreas transplants have a very high success rates in curing them. She saved my life cause she loved me. Now I want to do the same for her, however, you are stopping me? I do feel obliged, very obliged, and I want to save her life."

Laura shook her head. "We aren't stopping you," she said softly. "It's a very mature thing for you to do. Thank you." With that, Laura wrapped her arms around Drake and kissed him on both cheeks.

"Your welcome."
A couple of days later
Drake was lying in the bed, there was a clear plastic separator between the two bedrooms. He was still asleep in the bed when a doctor came in, did some doctory stuff and walked back out.

All Christina had been told about the surgery was she was being given part of someone's pancreas, that hopefully would cure her Hypoglycemia. A few days after the surgery, Christina woke sometime in the early afternoon to find only her mother watching some obscene gameshow on the TV. "Where's Daddy and Oliver?" she asked. "They've gone home," Laura replied with a smile. "Oliver can't miss anymore days of school; especially if he's going to attend the Institute." Christina nodded and watched the gameshow for a few minutes. Suddenly a thought struck her. "Where's Drake?" she asked Laura. "He's persistent, I thought he would stick around..." Laura just gawked at her daughter. Her lips moved but no sound came out. "He's... well he's..." She trailed off and looked at the open door leading into another room. Christina frowned and got out of her bed. Leaning on the pole holding up her glucose drip, she stumbled across her room and into the next one. There was a plastic curtain obscuring the bed from view. She reached up slowly and pulled the curtain aside. "What the..."

Drake had woken up at the sound of the Drip stand coming his way. As the curtain was pushed away Drake opened his eyes. He weakly put up one hand as to wave. "Hey." He said, He put his hand back down. He hadn't recovered from the surgery as quickly as Christina and had spent a day in a coma. Waking up at 6 in the morning from it. he had been peacefully resting since then.

Christina sat down in the chair beside Drake's bed. She reached out with a trembling hand and held his. "What are you doing in a hospital bed?" she asked softly.

"I don't know. They just felt so comfortabble I wanted to try them out. I was wrong. It also might have something to do with someone slicing open my side a couple of days ago and removing half my pancreas." Drake said.
