Christina lay in the hospital bed, a heart rate monitor beeping steadily. The room was a private one, with three chairs, a roll-over desk and a TV, not that the girl needed it. The blinds were shut, but a little light still filtered through.Laura and Oliver sat in two of the chairs, the latter fast asleep.
A doctor came in to check on Christina, and then turned to leave when Roger and Drake appeared in the doorway.
"Sir, is this young man a relative?" the doctor asked quietly.
"No Doctor, he isn't," Roger admitted. "But he's the only one who may be able to help my daughter recover.
The Doctor shrugged and left the room.
Laura got up and kissed Drake on either cheek, whispering her thanks to the boy, before waking up Oliver and the three of them followed the doctor, leaving Drake alone with Christina.

Drake walked up to the bed. He sat on a chair next to it, lifted up the young girls hand and holding it gently. "Hey, They say you can hear me, so I thought, Why not give it a shot. I know your condition has taken over most of your life and I am sorry for that. I wish you had a power which didn't make such an effect on your health, Anyway, back to what I was saying, well wasn't saying but thinking. Your parents are worried you wont wake up. And so am I. I love you, I have no idea what my life would be like if you were never there. Oh wait, yes I can, It'd be over. Your parents invited me over for Christmas. So this year will be the best I have had in a long time. I have already lost two people I care about, and Bob is finally out of his Coma. It lasted a week longer than I expected. I am not going to lose you again, I am going to stay right here till you wake up, then when you are better we are going out, This time to the newly built Twilight. It should be fun."

Christina was well aware of Drake there, holding her hand.
No... go away... please. Just leave me alone! I hate you! I hate you... I love you so much... please leave me alone...
She tried to move, to say something, to WAKE UP but she didn't succeed.

"C'mon Christina, you can beat this. It's just another obstacle. If everyone stopped because of an obstacle, where would we be? I am not going to leave you, I wont move from your bedside till you wake up, You know how persistant I am." With that he leaned off his chair and kissed her on the forehead. "You will wake up. I know it. And I shall be the first one to talk to you."

"Please... just go away..." Christina's forehead creased into a frown as she muttered those words, but said nothing more.

Drake jumped when he heard those words.
"Why do you want mem to go away. I thought you liked me. But if you want me to go away then fine." Drake got up, walked out of the room and looked at the parents. His sad face, Sad for just being rejected, turned into a smile when he faced the parents. He gave them the thumbs up and walked down the corridor to another unoccupied seat.

Roger eagerly poked his head in the room, and was shocked to find Christina still asleep.
Laura however, caught Drake's upset look and went to sit beside him.
"What's wrong?"

Laura sighed and hugged Drake.
"Honey, I know Roger talked to you. Christina is a fickle girl. She says one thing and means the other. But I do know she loves you. More than anything. When she gets embarrassed, she says she wants to be alone. But in reality she hates being alone. She really needs you right now. Wait a sec... did you say she told you to go away!?"

"Roger... did you hear that? Christina spoke!" Laura said excitedly. "I'll go if you like." Laura swept into the room and sat in a corner, staring intently at Christina.
Mom, please get Drake. I need him! Mom, listen to me! Can't you hear me!?
"Drake..." Christina whispered.
Laura jumped and smiled. She silently willed Christina to wake up. Hopefully she would soon.

Drake heard his name and ran to her bedside as fast as he could, which considering his bould is pretty fast. "Yeah Christina, I'm here. did you want to tell me something?"

A single tear trickled her cheek. Lower down, a finger twitched.

"Yes, yes, I love you. I know you love me to." Drake said. He wiped the tear from her cheek and then noticed her finger twitch. Turning around he said to Laura.
"She is regaining control of her nervous system" With a smile.

Oh Drake. Always making jokes... Come on Christina. Wake up. WAKE UP!
Christina's forehead creased into another frown.
Christina! Focus! Focus on Drake! Come on, you can do this! Wake up! Please? Wake the f*** up! Whoa... did I just swear at myself!? Interesting... Wake up!
"WAKE UP!" Christina yelled, her eyes snapping open as she bolted upright.
She looked around, bewildered, before lying back down and smiling weakly at Drake, her cheeks red with embarrassment.
Laura jumped out of her seat, shocked. Roger and Oliver ran into the room. Roger smiled and gestured to Laura that they should leave.
The Davis family left the room, once again leaving Christina and Drake alone.
