((This takes place presumably after the house was repaired))
The dining room of the Davis' home was decked out in party gear. There were streamers hanging from the ceiling, a bright green bulb in the ceiling lamp, and the couch off to the side was almost completely hidden under the presents in shiny wrapping paper. On the table was a banquet similar to the one that was on that very table the day. A huge roasted chicken, green and pasta salads, potatoes, mashed and roasted, roasted onions and carrots, a gravy boat, and a jug of cheese sauce. There were also a couple of plates of sausage rolls and cheerios too. There was one thing the banquet was missing though. A birthday cake. There were no candles either. But there was a large, frosted, bright green wine bottle with a single white candle stuck in it. The wick was alight and the flame was dancing. Christina opened the door to the family home. She and Drake had just come back from a walk in the late autumn afternoon. She took off her coat and Drake's too, and they proceeded into the dining room.
"Surprise!" Laura, Oliver and Roger yelled, all with huge grins and party hats.

"Happy birthday, Drake," Christina muttered in his ear as she hugged him.
"Oh, tis no trouble, my dear," Laura said. "You deserve it! Sixteen years old! Wow, I remember back when I was sixteen - but I'm not going to tell you anything about it! This is your day. Try to enjoy it!"

I will. I had been three weeks since Drake had been diagnosed and stopped talking. He didn't know his own voice anymore.

"Presents!" Christina grabbed one of the many presents on the sofa and shoved it, albeit carefully, into his hands. "Mine first!" The present was boxlike in shape, after all, it was in fact a box. Inside the box was a marble statue of a couple dancing, a memento of their first date, dancing in the rain. The couple stood on a platform, which had been hollowed out and a mechanism had been placed inside it. When wound up, the couple rotated on the platform and the musical mechanism had been specially made to play "I Can't Stop Loving You" by Van Halen. Christina had made the statue, and had paid for the mechanisms to be put in it. Christina grinned as she waited for Drake to open it.
((You do the rest of the presents, as you most probably have a better idea of what Drake would like.))

"Oliver picked out the art book and pencils," Roger said. Oliver was silent. He had an embarrassed smile on his face.

How did you know? I haven't told anyone. Drake wrote down on a peice of paper sliding it over to Oliver. He picked up a package, It was large. On the card it had written on it From your friends at the institute. He opened it up and in it was a laptop computer. Coloured chrome. He shot an inquisitive look at Christi8na and then to the rest of the family.

"It was nothing really," Oliver muttered. "I just had a hunch."
"Don't ask us," Laura said, smiling. "A robot dropped it off while you were out."

Your telling me. I never thought I would live to see that happen Drake wrote. He opened his artbook and started drawing. He was an amazingly good, fast drawer. This was one of the picture in the locket the was around Christinas neck. He had memorized it in every detail and even added in some colour. He held it up to give to Christina. For you. He wrote with his other hand.

Christina grinned as she accepted the picture. "It's beautiful!" she exclaimed. "Thank you!" She flung her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply. Her family looked pointedly away.
